Today, we announce a partnership with W1M to integrate access to portfolio-backed lending within its broader wealth management offering. The partnership provides access to additional borrowing solution for eligible W1M clients who may wish to access lending secured against their investment portfolio.

W1M is a leading international wealth and investment manager, with £28.7 billion in assets under management. W1M specialises in working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, charities, institutions, and financial advisers. The partnership compliments the range of services available to eligible clients by providing access to a portfolio-backed lending solution through Firenze.

The solution is supported by our leading infrastructure and integrated with W1M’s operating processes, helping to facilitate an efficient client experience while maintaining existing custody arrangements. All lending is subject to eligibility, underwriting, and credit approval.

“Our clients may, from time to time, have borrowing requirements alongside their investment and wealth management needs. Through our partnership with Firenze, eligible clients will have access to a portfolio-backed lending solution that can sit alongside their existing arrangements with W1M. The integration with Firenze’s platform supports an efficient process and allows clients to maintain their existing custody arrangements.”

This partnership has been enabled through SEI’s custody and wealth platform capabilities. Through its existing relationship with W1M, SEI facilitates the data connectivity and operational controls that support access to our portfolio-backed lending solution.

As we continue to forge partnerships across the wealth management industry, this tie-up reflects a growing recognition across the wealth management sector that lending is an integral part of a client’s financial life.

For firms managing significant portfolios on behalf of HNW and UHNW clients, the ability to make that possible without the need to move custody or meet the minimums of a private bank is a core benefit.
